100 Bibles for 100 Villages

The Malawi Bibles Mission began in 2023 with a vision of 100 Bibles for 100 villages in Malawi - where there are thousands of God's people worshipping Christ as Saviour but without their own Bible.

Through God's grace that vision has been realised in the donation of >8,200 Bibles in the national Chichewa language through an APWM appeal. A team of 16 volunteers from Presbyterian churches across Victoria (Bellarine, Canterbury, Croydon, Donvale, Epping, Heathmont, Mt Evelyn, Reservoir and Sorrento/Rye) travelled to Malawi from the 24th of June to the 19th of July to help distribute the Bibles to remote villages in four Presbyteries across the south of Malawi. Additionally, through a separate appeal >3000 Chichewa hymnbooks have been donated so that Malawian Christians may be able to sing God's word as well as read it.

The mission also involves the offer of teaching the COMA Bible study method (Context → Observation → Meaning → Application) to any who are interested, both for personal reading and study, and for potential Bible study leaders to learn how to prepare a study. On top of this, the team has been busy over the last few months preparing sermons, songs, kids talks, memory verses, seminars, activities and many gifts pertaining to each member's God-given abilities to share with the Malawians. We look forward to being able to use such talents to build up the Malawian church and to share in fellowship and encouragement with our brothers and sisters across the world.

Pray that God would use us on this mission to make disciples of all nations, to build up the church into maturity in Christ Jesus, as He has called us to do.
